Education
From the ages of 4 to 18 we are required to go to school. We must sit in the same building for 7 hours, 5 days a week. This adds up to over 100,000 hours of learning. Since we are required to spend so much of our lives in school it can he assumed that the government wants us to get a good education, right? That could be heavily debated. If they wanted us to get a good education they would allow us to take classes specific to the jobs we want. If they wanted us to get a good education they would focus on helping each individual student. If they wanted us to get a good education they would provide more incentive for teachers to do their best work. If they wanted us to get a good education they would provide us with a good learning environment. How much of this happens though? Very little. Teachers are underpaid and underappreciated. Students must follow a path of education already laid out for them, regardless of what they are interested in. Students are placed in overcrowded classes and do not get the proper attention they need. If we are forced to dedicate so much of our lives to our education, others could work to make sure it is worth the effort.
